How to Get a Duplicate of Your Business Permit in Luxembourg
Need a recent copy of your business permit (autorisation d'etablissement / Niederlassungsgenehmigung)? You can request a duplicate online through MyGuichet.lu — it's free and takes about one business day.
Real example: We needed a proof of business licence not older than 6 months to issue a new LuxTrust Pro card. Of course, the original permit was older than that. We filed the request on MyGuichet.lu and received the duplicate electronically in about 25 hours.

Why You Might Need a Duplicate
You cannot always use your original business permit — some institutions require a recent document. Common situations:
- LuxTrust Pro card — renewal or first issuance may require a business licence not older than 6 months
- Bank account opening — banks often ask for a recent proof of authorisation
- Proof for clients or partners — some contracts require evidence of your valid permit
- Need it in a specific language — the duplicate is available in French, German, and English, so you can get an official copy in the language you need without paying for a certified translation
What You Need Before You Start
Before filing, make sure you have:
- A valid business permit — the duplicate is a copy of your existing authorisation; it does not renew or extend anything
- Your authorisation number — this is critical. The MyGuichet system searches by authorisation number, not by your name or business name. You can find this number on your original business permit document
- A business eSpace (espace professionnel) on MyGuichet.lu — you must file from your business space, not your personal one (espace prive). If you don't have a business eSpace yet, you need to create one first on MyGuichet.lu
- A LuxTrust product or eID card — required for authentication when filing
How to File (Step by Step)
- Go to MyGuichet.lu and log in with your LuxTrust product or eID
- Switch to your business eSpace (not your personal space — this is important)
- Start the procedure — you can access it directly via this link or search for "duplicata autorisation d'etablissement" in the procedures list
- Enter your authorisation number when prompted — the system will locate your permit
- Submit the request
- Wait for the duplicate to appear in your MyGuichet business eSpace — in our case, it arrived in about 25 hours

Languages: Get Your Permit in French, German, or English
The duplicate is issued in French, German, and English.
This is useful beyond just having a copy — if your original permit was issued in French and you need an English version (for example, for an international client or a bank that operates in English), the duplicate gives you an official version in all three languages. No need to pay for certified translation services.
